The Insurance Store was founded by Gene Young, who opened Young Insurance in an office adjacent to his barber shop just east of the square in downtown Neosho. The business began to grow, and soon Gene and Mitsie became full-time insurance agents, and moved into an office complex on the Neosho Boulevard, the current location, and the business became known as The Insurance Store.
